I came in to the shop today and purchased a Canon BP-2L24H battery to try and use with my HV20. One of your staff was very helpful, and kindly warned me against purchasing it as it might've only been compatible with the HV30. He then looked into it further for me, and called Canon to double check, so that I was completely informed when I made the decision to try my luck and buy it anyway!
So, I took the battery home, and found it works perfectly in my HV20. It has the same dimensions as the battery that came with the camera, except that it's 2cm deeper. The only problem this holds is that it prevents you from putting your eye right up to the viewfinder. I find this still a comfortable distance, and given that I usually only use the flip-out LCD, it really isn't a problem at all.
So thanks again, and I'm very glad I tried my luck!"
