Comments about Manfrotto 560B Video Monopod includes 243RC Head and QR plate:

This is an essential tool for the serious "run and gun" video cameraman. When a tripod is too cumbersome or intrusive and hand-held too unstable, this fills an essential niche. Probably the best monopod for light-weight video production around. The fluid pan feature is useful and well implemented. At a pinch it can even be used as a small tripod (if not fully extended). Very useful for DSLR or camcorder video on the go. Not a replacement for a sturdy tripod but definitely a useful adjunct.

Comments about Manfrotto 560B Video Monopod includes 243RC Head and QR plate:

Purchased this the other day to compliment the 561.
It is basically a mini 561, however i have screwed on a 701 fluid head, and it functions WELL for a B camera operator.

A must for DSLR event videogs and weddings, especially when you start filming with L lenses with no IS and cant afford a cumbersome and expensive shoulder RIG.

561 for your main A cam with 70-200
      561 for your B cam with 24-70

      win.

Comments about Manfrotto 560B Video Monopod includes 243RC Head and QR plate:

So planning to go on a trip overseas, I didn't plan on packing and lugging my heavy tripod around. So as a result I searched around the internet for a reasonably priced product which also screams out 'quality', and it also had to be lightweight and compact. My hunt was over when numerous reviews pointed at the 560B fulfilling those criteria.
the 560B is definitely well constructed with portability in mind. Its light weight allowed me to sling it around my shoulder for most of my trip without any painful repercussions. However with the fluid cartridge, I found that it did stick when i first used it, but once you warm it up and wear it in, it works a charm. Another qualm would probably be with the included 243RC head. The lack of a pan handle made it quite difficult for videography, and the extra point of contact under the armpit would've helped, but then again it wasn't designed for that, so I definitely recommend any prospective videographers out there for this monopod to probably get the 701hdv head too, since its quite compact, and i find the sliding plate much more convenient than QR plates.
I also tested the weight capabilities. Although the max is stated, the monopod held a d7000 with battery grip and a 70-200 f/2.8 without a problem, but definitely don't rely on the center stick point of the monopod head in that case.
Some people might utilize the monopod for self portraiture because of the legs it has, just be weary since i found that even with an x10 on the head, even the slightest of winds could set it off.
Over all i would highly recommend this product for people looking for a cheap, lightweight, quality monopod with the prospect of both videography and photography.

It works beautifully to stabilise your video shots as long as you remember it isn't a tripod not does it want to replace it. But it's helpful when you have light camcorders(<2kg) and need to be inconspicuous.

Comments about Manfrotto 560B Video Monopod includes 243RC Head and QR plate:

We already have the other Manfrotto, the 561BHDV and I grabbed this one to use for second unit stuff when shooting live events.

It uses a different head and plate but we happened to have a spare Manfrotto 501 adapter plate lying around so it made it a nice cheap alternative.
The tilt function of the head is not as smooth as the 561 but was not an issue for us.

I like that it's light and yet sturdy enough for DSLR video shooting.

The only real issue (and this goes for the 561 as well) is that the foot joint becomes sticky after a while which makes the movement less smooth and requires regular cleaning and adjusting to keep it nice. This is probably a basic limitation of this kind of product and I can't imagine much that could be done to counter it.

All in all 4 to 4.5 out of 5.

Does NOT replace a video tripod but it's great to add stability to your shots when you cannot take your tripod with you. You can also grab it just under the plate a la steadicam (don't expect much though).
It fits in a large suitcase, so is great when you don't want to advertise your trade

I am night shoots photo enthuastic and using D70. Since I had my accident and be on the wheelchair, I need to find other solution to replace my manfrotto tripod which is heavy to carry and difficult to use while on the wheelchair. I need light and easy to carry with me but can be used to hold my camera steady while taking long exposure shoots. And I find Manfrotto 560B and very satisfied with the product. The fluid cartridge on the base is help me a lot while taking picture. I can bend the monopod close to me without worry my camera will shake. It's not very sturdy but of course you need to have a good technique to ensure the camera is steady. It won't replce tripod though, but it works for me.
