The Manfrotto 504HD Fluid Video Head introduces a revolutionary new design that improves performance while reducing weight, as well as offering a soupçon of style. The head's patented Bridging Technology allows for a wider top plate and longer sliding plate that add stability and balance to a set of state-of-the-art professional features. With its ability to support up to 19.8 lbs, the 504HD can be used with a variety of video and photo cameras. The newly designed counterbalance system includes four presets--from 0 to 16.5 lbs--enabling proper balance no matter what the camera's size or weight.

At the same time, redesigned variable friction components--with clearly marked degree scales and vibration-free movement--bring new levels of fine tuning to your tilts and pans. An illuminated leveling bubble keeps horizons from tilting, even in the dark, while independent disc-brake locks make sure the head stays secure when at rest.

Whether you're using a pro camcorder or a highly accessorized video DSLR on a rod/rail system, the 504HD takes some of the strain off your support rig by providing two 3/8" threads integrated into the sides of the top plate. These Easy Link Connectors allow attachment of monitors, arms, and other accessories directly to the head, making the camera less top-heavy while reducing setup time. All while being oh-so-stylish!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid peformer, Manfrotto delivers again Functions exactly as required with samall to medium sized camera rigs. Also doubles up nicely as a crane/boom-arm support platform for lightweight/small camera rigs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A surprise package I use our tripods for news, for weddings, corporate and event video shoots. Our shots must be smooth and these sticks and head really do deliver. They are light enough to carry on extended shoots while still being well built. The only way I think Manfrotto could improve these is to make them deploy faster with a single leg lock system. This is vital in the run and gun of news gathering where the sticks must be ready for camera mounting within seconds of arrival on the scene. Overall though and for value for money, I put the Manfrotto 504HD Head w/546B 2-Stage Aluminum Tripod System ahead of the equivalent Sachtler product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tripod for the money Good stable tripod for the price. Bought it to replace a carbon Millers DS10 that was stolen from my car. It's on par with the Miller but not quite as smooth, light, or quick to set up. It is cheaper, more stable, and has an illuminated bubble which comes in handy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of tripod This tripod is big and tough. Ideally suited for heavier or larger rigs. The pan and tilt are silky smooth. For added stability use sandbag on divider. Legs are solidly made but without the support of sandbags, lighter rigs will be unsteady. Excellent product. It has some weight behind it but I think that is is a good thing as it adds that stability you'll be lacking in lighter tripods. I use mine for short film.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid and smooth. For the price it is very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight, yet is still quite smooth. It is certainly far better than the Manfrotto 502 head, but not as smooth as the Miller DS20 (which was out of my price range).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A [*] GOOD TRIPOD For the price-point, this tripod system is fantastic.
I have used lots of Miller and Sachler DV heads that retail at twice the price and its easily as good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Price is never lies,, This tripod is really steady, and 504HD is really great fluid head! I'm very satisfied with this tripod, but, because it's quite cheap than others, the heavy is a big problem.
