The Sennheiser MKE 600 is a camcorder microphone that can master even the toughest video sound challenges. Its high level of directivity ensures that it picks up sound from the camera direction while reliably attenuating unwanted sound coming from the sides and rear.
Wind noise is reduced by the included foam windshield, while a switchable low-cut filter additionally minimises wind and handling noise. An optional blimp (foam windshield/hairy cover combination) reduces wind noise even more effectively, making the MKE 600 the perfect choice for outdoor recordings.
The MKE 600 can be phantom powered or operated on an AA battery for about 150 hours.

A Good Go To Work Horse.I have chosen this microphone as the replacement for the earlier low cost Sennheiser and Rode microphones . It is a robust microphone that stands up to the ruff handling on day to day news and current affairs work.

Lightweight, good size, beautiful designUsing this for street shooting is fantastic. The low cut filter switch along with the wind sock that comes with the microphone really makes using it in windy or noisy conditions very easy. The phantom power option is probably the best feature. Not having to use a tonne of batteries is very easy on your wallet.

Great micRecently used it for a short documentary and I found that it recorded great sound. I am using it in conjunction with a Panasonic G7 mirrorless camera and a Zoom H4N. I am not a professional but in my opinion it is a great product.
One problem though - although the mic is of an excellent build quality, the clip that comes with it, which connects it to a hot shoe is not. I believe a screw came loose on mine so it fell to pieces and I can't find the screw so I will need to get a replacement. I would recommend getting a better shock mount to hot shoe anyway because while the wind is up, or if using it handheld, the mic wobbles around quite a bit.

The Drewster from
High Quality..Trusted BrandNeeded a good mic for a corporate doco. Listened to various sound files from different mics , and this mic sounded fuller in the bottom end, and overall gave excellent results. Light weight, average size, runs from battery as well as phantom, and lets you record excellent audio. I have another three older shotgun mics, and this mic gave the higher output with the lowest noise floor. And it is the smallest. So a good buy, and something in my kit that I can have complete confidence in.

Nice micThis is a great for the $$$. It covers just about every camera combo. I like the little green LED that glows to show phantom power is on.

Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun MicrophoneUsing on Nikon DSLR D7000 camera on tripod with 24-70mm lens, (just under 35mm) MKE 600 on the standard flash shoe, distance of 2 to 2.5 meters. For longer distances, use of a cable to relocate microphone. I purchased the model with a battery as the Nikon has no phantom power. Important to purchase the KA600 3.5mm jack to XLR. Very pleased with the quality. This is a single mono microphone. Also purchased the MZQ600 tripod holder, but am concerned at how tightly it resists getting the microphone into it. Really pleased with the quality. Good for quick video clips for people to put up on their websites.
