The Beachtek MCC-2 is a two-channel, audio adapter / bracket combo that lets you mount, connect and control wireless mics and small, self powered camera mounted microphones such as the popular Rode VideoMics that have unbalanced mini-plug connectors. Since the adapter is a passive device, it is completely noise-free for superb audio. The adapter is also virtually unclipable and offers an extremely wide dynamic range. No power or batteries are required to operate the adapter.

The MCC-2 is very easy to set up and use. The dual trim controls allow you to adjust the signal levels independently and the output switch lets you select mono or stereo operation. The rugged extruded aluminum chassis has 3 integrated mounting shoes to securely attach the wireless mics and shotguns. Its compact size fits neatly on top of any camcorder or DSLR camera that has a standard mounting shoe.

Ideal for use with DSLR cameras such as the Nikon D800, that have a headphone jack to allow you to monitor the audio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for every DSLR/mirrorless camera shooter! I use this adapter with my Sony A7s to attach a Rode VideoMic Pro R and a RodeLink wireless mic system. The Rode gear attaches to the shoe mounts on the adapter and makes for a nice compact 2 channel audio system perfect for run 'n' gun situations. The build quality is great, very solid metal design, looks like it will last a lifetime. Being passive, the signal is very clean. My only critique on this product is the volume pots. They click when you are adjusting the levels. I wish they had opted for smooth motion volume pots, however, being clickable means they cannot easily be knocked and adjust volume by accident - so there is some logical explanation for this volume pot style. Obviously this slight negative point only applies to those mounting microphones directly to the adapter. If you are mounting your microphone to a rig or using off-camera mics, you won't have an issue. All in all, a great, cheap, compact solution to the single mic input cameras :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A must for cameras with 1 audio input My camera has only 1 audio input, so every time I had two people wearing lapel mics, I needed to use a seperate recorder. With the Beachtek, you can easily attach your radio receivers to the shoe mounts, and independantly control levels.

The best feature is the ability to 'merge' the mics into one track, or have each mic on a seperate track for more editing options when editing.

The only complaint is that it doesn't support phantom power, and audio levels can be very low for lower voltage shotgun mics.

Other than that, it's an essential item for cameras with a single input!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for 2 cam IV's This unassuming piece of gear will save your bacon if you ever have to throw together a 2-cam interview by yourself. Basically, this gadget allows you to mix two wireless receivers (which handily mount to the side of this device on the built-in cold shoes) into one stereo signal, which can either be pre-mixed, or left/right if you prefer. This device is passive, no batteries to lose. SO you'll get both signals in your cans and in the camera that you're operating. Cool.
