With the special adapter LA-100W, it is possible to use the aLens series, designed for Sony Digital SLR still cameras. The difference in sensor size between the HVR-Z7 and HVR-S270 and a D-SLR camera means that the effective focal length of still camera lenses is multiplied by 7x. This combination can ideally be used for extreme telephoto applications, for example wildlife or surveillance video shooting. Or the shallow depth of field created by the still lens can be employed in creative filmmaking.
