The Datavideo HS-1300 6-Channel HD Portable Video Streaming Studio can switch up to six live 1080i or 720p HD video inputs while recording and streaming the program feed. Effectively, this makes the HS-1300 a portable TV studio that you can take anywhere and set up with minimal effort or extra equipment. Four SDI and two HDMI inputs can be connected to cameras or other consumer or professional video sources. Audio can be brought in from a separately available mixing board via a pair of XLR inputs. Recording and streaming uses the ubiquitous H.264 format, at up to 10 Mb/s. A single mix-effect bus features two upstream keyers, two downstream keyers with linear and luma key modes, wipe, cut, and mix transitions, plus one picture-in-picture, and all with full preview. Concert productions, events, houses of worship, and educational institutions with live sports programming are some of the few use cases where the HS-1300 could be useful. When it's time to wrap production, close the 17.3" screen, unplug the video sources, and carry the switcher using the built-in handle, like a suitcase.
