The light that appears as haze in the sky or as the polariser blocks a reflection from the water's surface. To select the angle that best highlights your subject and increases the contrast in your shot while blocking the most unwanted light, rotate the filter either manually or with an optional cordless motor.

This polariser fits the Tilta Mirage snugly and ensures that a lens with a front diameter of 95mm is completely covered. Alternatively, the Lightweight Filter Clamp-On Adapter (sold separately) can be secured to the lens directly.

When sunlight gets partially polarised due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules and scattering into what appears as haze, polarizers block out the polarised light resulting from reflection off a non-metallic surface. One can significantly lessen glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and boost the saturation of sky and vegetation by using a polariser to block only those light rays.

The entering light is severely distorted by linear polarisers, which has an adverse effect on internal light metering and autofocus. Circular polarizers solve this problem by stacking a randomising filter layer after the polariser to disperse light, allowing certain camera functions to work as intended.
