Using our online system to create a quotation which is valid for 14 days.
We developed a simple self service system that allows Government Departments, Educational institutes, and Corporate companies, to obtain a quick quotation request, by following these simple steps.
- To create an Online Quotation, add the product(s) you wish a quote on to your shopping cart as if you were placing an order.
- After adding all the items to your shopping cart click "View Shopping Cart"
- On the Shopping Cart Page, instead of selecting the "Proceed to Checkout" button, click the "Request a Quote" button instead. (see below example)
You will then be redirected to the Login Page (if you're not already logged in) and you will be asked to log into your account. (see below)
If you don't have an account you will then need to create one, at this step. We require this information to capture all your details, so we can provide you with accurate shipping costs, and also if we needed to discuss particulars of the request with you.
Once you have logged into or created your account, you will then be re-directed to the Quotations Submission Page where you can submit your quote request.
All the items in your cart will be visible on this page (see below). You can also add any comments to the request, and select what your preferred method of payment will be.
Once the quote has been submitted, a Quote ID will be applied to it, (Shown as QU-XXXXX) which you can reference in any correspondence with us. A Confirmation of the request will also be emailed to you.
Once received by us, we will review your request and return to you with our most competitive quote.
Please allow up to 24hrs for Processing.
You will get a follow-up e-mail (Subject will read: Your Quote, QU-XXXXX has been completed).
Once you review your quote, you can "Accept"it via logging into your Account Center or modifying it by calling us during business hours.
Our optional SGH-6 shotgun capsule adds a professional-quality hyper-directional (that is, highly directional) microphone to the H6, making it the perfect audio recorder for anyone working in film, video or live theater, or for ENG (electronic news gathering) applications.
Thanks to the three internal mics with digital signal processing ability, the SGH-6 achieves a frequencyindependent super-cardioid polar pattern. Compared to ordinary shotgun microphones using an acoustic tube method, the SGH-6 maintains a highly directional pickup at about half the length.
Shotgun microphones are often used when you cannot position a microphone directly in front of a sound source. For example, if someone is speaking in front of a video camera and you don't want them to hold an interview microphone up to their mouth, the solution is to use an off-screen shotgun mic.
However, shotgun mics are not the audio equivalent of a photographic telephoto lens. Even though they do an above-average job of picking up sounds that originate from a short distance away, they always sound better when they're physically close to the sound source. If the capsule is more than three feet away, the audio will start to sound distant. The farther away it is, the more distant and reverberant the audio will become.
Note: The SGH-6 is a monaural microphone.

Very handyThis thing makes recording foley, or narration, so easy. A lot less hassle when you don't have to fiddle around with multiple pieces of equipment, XLR cables, etc. Just record, eject SD card, and plug into your computer.

Useful alternative to X/Y and MS input modulesWe use this mic in situations where background noise is significant. The pickup pattern isolates what's right in front of the unit well.
Note - the sound recording quality is not superior to the X/Y or MS mic it's just better at isolating the sound of a single speaker.

Great Value for MoneyLove how small it is. great point and shoot. Comes with a hairy windscreen. Does pick up a bit of handling noise if you're moving around with it so the "Rycote RY041119 Portable Recorder Suspension" would fix that problem. I use it on a zoom h5 recorder for all sorts of things. It's a great addition to the X/Y stereo microphone capsule if you have one.

Great, solid micI use the shotgun mic to record foley for video games and short films.
Great because it just works very well.
Not so great - the windsock touches the mic - other windsocks usually have a plastic skeleton which separates it from touching the mic. It's not terrible, just can't be used in extreme wind conditions.
