How's the Audio recording capability on this camera? Canon DSLR camera history has been video fantastic but Audio capability lower than average. Does the LCD show audio meter? Does it have manual audio level option? Does it have XLR input? In keeping with the philosophy of this camera, make video recording easy, it would be a shame if the Audio recording capability has not improved from the DSLR cousins. However I wouldn't be surprised if it is hasn't.

Verified Reply - Steen - Humanitarian and docoI love this camera. I use if for doco run and gun in the high pressure humanitarian disaster/conflict sphere. Image quality with graded C-Log is awesome. Image stabilisation is the best I have used with any camera. Simple to set up and also quick to change settings when in run and gun situations. The audio is surprisingly good but I use a Tascam DR 60, beachtek, Juiced link where set up time allows OR my trusty Rode Videomic when time is at a premium. I always back up with a zoom external recorder but almost never use the audio from it. So a simple setup is to add the Rode. A better setup outdoors is to add a juiced link or similar plus a Rode blimp and dead wombat.
Verified Reply - Sales TeamHi there,
It doesn't feature XLR inputs. It's just got 1 stereo 3.5mm input like most DSLR cameras.
It's been out for such a short amount of time - I have actually not received any information regarding how good its audio capabilities are or aren't to his point.
Without XLR inputs - pairing it up with a good multi channel audio recorder like a Zoom H5 , for example, is still going to be a good idea I think.
